About Dr. Patel

Ankur Patel, DO, is a board-certified anesthesia and pain management specialist at Interventional Pain Management Services, with two offices in St. Louis and one in Granite City, Missouri. He’s been treating patients for a variety of pain-related conditions for nearly a decade.

Dr. Patel has been passionate about medicine and pain management since earning his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. He later continued his education and completed his osteopathic medicine degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Upon graduation, Dr. Patel completed his residency at Saint Louis University in St. Louis before starting an internship at the same school. He ultimately continued his education by enrolling in a fellowship program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Since completing his fellowship in pain management, Dr. Patel has treated a number of pain-related conditions, including acute and chronic low back and neck pain, lumbar and cervical radiculopathy, herniated and bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), postherpetic neuralgia, neuropathic pain, and arthritis pain. He’s committed to educating his patients on their pain and treating the root of the problem, rather than masking their symptoms. As a pain management specialist, Dr. Patel’s goal is to alleviate pain and improve his patients’ overall function and mobility.
